Introducing WenderHost.tv

WenderHost.tv LogoThis past Friday, I set up a new website which is already proving to be a big help to my clients and a major boost to my productivity. For years, I’ve found myself repeatedly explaining the same thing to many different people. At times, I’ve considered compiling FAQs; however, the easiest and quickest explanations to grasp usually involve me showing someone the answer to a technical question. This means that my client and I have to work on coordinating our schedules, and that can sometimes take a while depending upon my client’s schedule. This dilemma helped me come up with the idea for WenderHost.tv. It’s a website where I’ll be posting screencasts (i.e. narrated videos of my computer screen) on all manner of topics.

Rather than writing out a long and tedious set of instructions, I was able to record a video where I answered his question. Then I sent him the link so he could view it at his leisure.

In addition to being very convienent for my clients, the production process on my end is simple too. I use Jing to record my screencaptures. Plus, I’ve set it up to automatically upload my screencasts with the click of a button. Once the upload is finished, Jing automatically adds my custom video embed code to my computer’s clipboard. This lets me go over to WenderHost.tv and start writing my post. The total video production cycle routinely takes me ten minutes or less.

All in all, I look forward using WenderHost.tv for a lot more than just answering my clients’ questions. It will be a great demonstration of the WordPress sites and customizations that I build. I’ve also started adding screencasts on topics like Google Apps and Photoshop too. So, whether you’re one of my clients, a WordPress user or just surfing the web there’s a good chance that I’ll have a screencast that will interest you.
